PRC: CPD compliance starts July 1, except for nurses, teachers

PRC reminds all professionals, with exception of teachers and nurses, that the CPD requirement for renewal starts July 1.


MANILA - Professional Regulation Commission issued a notice on Friday reminding all regulated professionals, except nurses and teachers, to comply with the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirement for renewal of their license cards starting July 1.

Teachers will be required to submit the same starting December 1, 2017, while nurses must have earned the required units starting January 1, 2018. Here's the full text of the notice, as posted at PRC website:




NOTICE: Compliance with Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Act Of 2016

Manila, June 30, 2017 – Starting July 1, 2017, all professionals, with the exception of Professional Teachers and Registered Nurses, are required to present earned CPD units before the renewal of Professional Identification Cards.

Professionals renewing their professional ID cards must provide the original and photocopy of certificates of credit units earned. For detailed requirements, click HERE.

As stated in Section 10.2 of the General IRR of the CPD Law, the transitory period for the accumulation of CPD Credit units are as follows:



Compliance to CPD law for professional teachers will start on December 1, 2017 per Resolution No. 11 s.2017 of the Board for Professional Teachers.

Compliance to CPD law for nurses will start on January 1, 2018 per Resolution No. 10, s.2017 of the Board for Nursing.




The CPD requirement is based on the Republic Act 10912 or the Continuing Professional Development Act of 2016, one of the bills that has lapsed into law on July 2016.
