Espenido wants Iloilo City as next assignment

Chief Inspector Espenido wants to be assigned in Iloilo City, tagged by President Duterte as most 'shabulized'.

MANILA - Controversial cop Jovie Espenido, chief inspector of Ozamiz City police office, is hoping to be reassigned in Iloilo City whose Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog is included in the narco-list of President Rodrigo Duterte.

In several occassions, Duterte referred to Iloilo City as the most 'shabulized' city, and bedrock of illegal drugs. He also repeatedly named Mabilog as protector of drugs.

In an interview over ANC's Headstart hosted by Karen Davila, Espenido said that 'God willing' he wants Iloilo City as his next assignment.

Asked by Davila if he wanted "to actually challenged the Mayor to either make his life right or face your wrath," he answered that he will initially talk to Mabilog.

"I'll talk to him firs. We'll have a serious dialogue. I'll be able to tell if he is sincere or not."

Few days ago, Espenido warned local government officials of his next posting to "resign" if they are involved in drugs, in case they want to stay alive.

Espenido led the July 30 raids on the Parojinog compound in Ozamiz City that led to the deaths of 16 individuals, including Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog, Sr. and his wife Susan.

He was also the chief of police of Albuera, Leyte when the Mayor Rolando Espinosa was arrested and killed in his prison cell.
