LIST: PRC-required CPD units for all professions for 2017, after 2017 renewal

PRC listed the required CPD units for all regulated professionals this 2017 and onwards.

MANILA - In a recent update on Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements, Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) has listed the required units for each profession this 2017, following years 2018, 2019, and 2020 onwards.

The CPD units are required in the renewal of Professional Identification Card (PIC), based on the new CPD law. The matrices, which are embedded below, also include reduced unit requirements for senior citizens in some of the professions.

These are the professions that need to submit earned units this renewal period of July to December 2017:

Professionals must present their certificates indicating the CPD units earned upon claiming the Professional Identification Card. Those who are not able to comply with the required CPD units due to 'justifiable reasons' may renew their PIC upon execution of an Affidavit of Undertaking, which is provided for in the application form, to complete the required CPD units for the next compliance period.

Justifiable reasons include:
1. Medical reasons;
2. Unforseen or uncontrolled events (e.g. Martial Law declaration, recent typhoon, fire, et.al.);
3. Professionals working abroad;
4. Unemployed; and
5. Financially handicapped

Starting 2018 renewal period, this will be the required CPD units for each profession:

Professionals who will be required to present CPD units after 2017 are encouraged to start preparing for the next compliance period by attending seminars, trainings and other tracks which earn CPD units.
