DICT: Free Wifi in Antique by December
DICT hopes to provide Antique with free wi-fi by December 2016
SAN JOSE De BUENAVISTA, Antique - The Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT) hopes to be able to provide Antique province with free wi-fi by December of this year.
DICT Director Frederick D.C. Amores said that they target to implement the free wi-fi project in line with the government’s “Internet for All campaign’” under the Philippine Digital Strategy of 2011 to 2016 in Antique’s plazas and schools.
He said that this project has been piloted in Iloilo city and that it is now available at the Plaza Libertad. The project was then launched in the city last February 23.
He added that for the 3rd-6th class municipalities, their target is July next year but hopefully it could already be implemented by December. [via PNA]
