Nurse-turned-cop wins Ms. Ganda Pulis 2017

PO1 Paciencia bested 26 other police officers from other regions to win the 1st ever Miss PNP pageant.



MANILA - A nurse-turned policewoman from Eastern Visayas was crowned as this year’s “Ms. Ganda Pulis 2017”.

The Grand Finals winner is PO1 Arla Ray Paciencia, a survivor of Typhoon “Yolanda” and a nurse by professional training and turned as a policewoman.

Paciencia is currently assigned at the Headquarters of the Police Regional Office 8 (PRO.

The other winners are 4th Runner Up, PO1 Janice Etang of PRO 13; 3rd Runner Up, PO1 Nove Lago of PRO 11; 2nd Runner Up, PO1 Bernnie Jane Dela Cruz of PRO 3; and 1st Runner Up, PO1 Liezel Abajero of PRO 9.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) through the Police Community Relations Group (PCRG), organized the “Ganda Pulis 2017” beauty pageant coinciding with the celebration of the “National Women’s Month”.




The pageant is the first ever “Ms. PNP”, which was a search for the country’s most confidently beautiful policewoman.

The contestants came from the different PROs, National Support Units (NSUs) and the five districts of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO).

Likewise, the “Ms. Ganda Pulis 2017” was anchored on the “National Women’s Month” celebration’s commitment for “True Compassion and Real Change” with the theme: “We Make Change Work for Women”.




It aims to strengthen public advocacy on “National Women’s Month” emphasizing on women’s issues that still need to be addressed.

It also highlights women’s concerns in leadership platforms and capacitating and preparing women and girls to make good their social role and responsibility. [By Perfecto T. Raymundo, PNA]
