CSC releases October 2016 Civil Service Exam results, topnotchers
Civil Service Commission confers eligibility to 22,978 passers of Civil Service Exam.
MANILA - A total of 22,978 examinees passed the Career Service Examination - Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT) conducted nationwide last October 23, 2016, the Civil Service Commission (CSC) has announced.
The figure represents 11.30 percent of the 203,339 total number of examinees.
The passers will be conferred the Career Service Professional or Subprofessional Eligibility, which is one of the requirements, along with education, experience and training, for permanent appointment to certain positions in the government career service.
The Professional Level exam yielded 19,870 passers or 11.33 percent of the total examinees for that level, and the Subprofessional Level exam, 22,978 passers or 11.09 percent.
The CSC clarified that these figures do not include results from the Cagayan Valley region, Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), and Dagupan City where the examination was suspended due to Super Typhoon Lawin and moved to November 20. The list of passers of the November 20 exam will be released by the end of the year.

Collective figures further show that NCR got the highest overall passing rate at 18.68 percent or 7,128 passers out of 38,162 examinees in that region, the CSC noted.
NCR also yielded the highest passing rate per exam level, with 19.69 percent or 6,228 passers out of 31,627 examinees for Professional, and 13.77 percent or 900 passers out of 6,535 examinees for Subprofessional.
Other top performing regions of the country in terms of overall passing rate include Central Luzon at 13.34 percent, Southern Tagalog at 12.74 percent, Ilocos region at 11.99 percent, and Western Visayas at 11.16 percent.

The commission said all relevant information about the results and the claiming of the Certification of Eligibility can be found in Examination Advisory No. 20, s. 2016 posted on its website.
Examinees, both passed and failed, may get their individual test results through the Online Civil Service Examination Result Generation System (OCSERGS), which can also be accessed through the CSC website, by December 18.
The CSC said passers may claim their Certification of Eligibility at the concerned CSC Regional Office (CSCRO) by Jan. 4, 2017, or upon availability, the exact schedule for which can be verified with the CSCRO.
In claiming the certification, they must present a valid ID card and, if available, their application receipt and/or CSC official receipt. The list of accepted ID cards can be found in Exam Advisory No. 20, s. 2016. The CSC stressed that representatives will not be allowed to claim the certification on behalf of the passers.
Meanwhile, the CSC said those who failed the CSE-PPT and want to take it again may apply for the next exam scheduled on March 12 next year. CSC regional and field offices nationwide will accept applications only until January 13. Application requirements and guidelines are posted on the CSC website. (PNA)
