PRC to issue CPD Guidelines on March 2017
PRC announces that CPD guidelines will be issued on March 2017 and implementation starts June 2017.
MANILA - Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) made an official statement of Tuesday that the implementation of CPD requirement for all regulated professionals will not start until they issue the guidelines, which will happen on March 2017.

Announcement on Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
The Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Program Management Committee of the Professional Regulation Commission announces that the CPD compliance as a requirement for the renewal of Professional Identification cards (PICs) is not due for implementation until the issuance of the CPD General Implementing Guidelines which shall take effect in March 2017.
UPDATE 12/28/2016 - PRC posted the following bulletin:
Please be informed that the requirement of CPD units for renewal of PRC ID will only be implemented by June 2017. However, for professions which currently require CPD units in their respective Professional Regulatory Laws, provisions regarding CPD requirements will still apply.
The requiring of CPD units for all professionals under different regulatory boards is based on the new law, Republic Act 10912 or the Continuing Professional Development Act of 2016, which was passed this July 2016.

The agency previously announced that the full implementation of the said law will start on first quarter of 2017, and stakeholders suggested a transition period which will require only a minimum number of units in the first few years.
