Psychology student wins Miss Dumaguete 2016 crown

Samantha Villahermosa won best in gown, swimwear, costume and was crowned Miss Dumaguete 2016.



DUMAGUETE CITY - A third year Bachelor of Science (BS) in Psychology student of Silliman University bested nine other lovely candidates to the Miss Dumaguete beauty pageant during the coronation night Wednesday held at the Lamberto Macias Sports and Cultural Center.

Samantha E. Villahermosa, 23 years old, resident of Barangay Batinguel was crowned Wednesday night as the 68th Charter Day anniversary Miss Dumaguete along with four other runners-up.

Samantha is into kickboxing and soccer and loves to cook.

Aside from the crown, trophy and cash prize, she also won the best in gown, best speaker, and best in swimwear, best in costume.

The first runner-up is Deborah Villaflores, 21 years old of Asian College and a resident of Barangay Tabuctubig, taking up BS Tourism Management. She was automatically crowned as Miss Sandurot 2016.




Second runner-up is candidate No. 10, Charlene Futalan, 3rd runner-up is candidate No. 5 Monessa Gonzales who was also adjudged as Miss Photogenic and 4th runner up is candidate No. 6 Junelyn Calongcong.


Minor and special awards went to Jo-an Arbas as Darling of the Press, Miss TNT texters’ choice award to Charlene Futalan, Miss Professionalism to Frerolyn Maria Espina and Miss Photogenic, Malikka Peñalosa, Best in Costume to Deborah Villaflores, and Best in Talent, Natalile Dale Portugaleza.
