Nurse accidentally cuts toes of baby in Pagadian
PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur - A nurse working in a private hospital in Pagadian City is in big trouble after she accidentally cut off a baby girl's toes on Wednesday, October 5.
In the initial police report, the nurse was supposed to trim the adhesive plaster on the right foot of the baby after giving a bath but it accidentally clipped off two toes.
Charles Delmar, the father of the baby girl, only discovered that his daughter’s little toe was cut four hours after the incident.
Surgery was immediately performed but only one toe was restored.
Pagadian city police chief superintendent Michael Palermo identified the nurse as Riza Dominisac, 30, who was arrested 5 hours after the tragic incident.
Palermo said that Dominisac was arrested at the residence of her sister in the village of Lumbia, Pagadian City after Delmar, filed a complaint against the nurse.
The parents are also contemplating on filing a case against the hospital. [With reports from Sunstar, 24 Oras]
