PRC sets full implementation of CPD requirements in 2017
Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) has announced Monday, October 17 that the full implementation of the new law on CPD unit requirements for all professionals will be on first quarter of 2017.

Republic Act 10912 or the Continuing Professional Development Act of 2016 has lapsed into law last July 21, 2016 after it was neither vetoed or signed by former President Benigno 'PNoy' Aquino III.
Under the law, CPD unit requirement is mandatory for all professionals before they can renew their PRC licenses. The law was sponsored by Senator Antonio Trillanes III, who said that through it, "we can provide our professionals with the necessary tools, not only to compete, but also to seize the opportunities ASEAN integration may provide us."
In compliance, PRC issued new guidelines regarding the implementation of the law. PRC Resolution No. 2016-990 details the unit required for each professionals under their respective regulatory boards.

120 Credit Units: Accountancy
45 Credit Units: Aeronautical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Agriculture, Architecture, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Criminology, Customs Broker, Dentistry, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Environmental Planning, Fisheries, Forestry, Geodetic Engineering, Geology, Guidance and Counseling, Interior Design, Landscape Architecture, Librarian, Mechanical Engineering, Medical Technology, Medicine, Metallurgical Engineering, Midwifery, Mining Engineering, Naval Architecture, Nursing, Nutrition and Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, Optometry, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, Professional Teachers, Psychology, Radiologic Technology, Real Estate Service, Respiratory Therapy, Sanitary Engineering, Social Work, Veterinary Medicine

Manila, October 17, 2016--- In compliance with Republic Act No. 10912 entitled An Act Mandating and Strengthening the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Program for all Regulated Profession, Creating the Continuing Professional Development Council, and Appropriating Funds therefor, and for Other Related Purposes, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) will fully implement the requirement for CPD. The implementation of the said Act will be on the first quarter of 2017. This is to give time to the Professional Regulatory Boards (PRBs) in consultation with the Accredited Integrated Professional Organization / Accredited Professional Organization (AIPO/APO) and other stakeholders to promulgate the general Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) which is mandated within six months from the effectivity of the said Act. Each Professional Regulatory Board (PRB) shall issue its own operational guidelines for the implementation of CPD Program.

ReplyDeleteincome generating law....another burden...hirap na nga kami magpaaral sa mga anak namin...dadagdagan nyo pa ang hirap at pagod namin....galing nyo magpatuad ng batas na yan ang sahod namin eh wala naman kayong effort....
ReplyDeleteginastos nyo na lang sana sa traffic problem at poverty related issues ang ginastos nyo sa batas na yan.....kayo nga magseminar sa paggawa ng batas....
Naku bakit puro negative naman ang mga comments halos.....mga profesionals ho tayong lahat....panahon na rin na maging dalubhasa po tayo sa ating profession....hindi naman po siguro masama na sa loob ng 3 years ay makakaipon tayo ng 45 hrs...e try lang natin d naman siguro sabay sabay iyan.....its really for our own professional growth and development...we get so modernized now and the technology is really advancing so fast, we dont want to be left behind right? Kung may pagkakataon man na kukuha ng CPD units sana yong nasa field mo talaga na pinapraktis.....this is just my opinion about the new rule imposed by the PRC....Goodluck and God bless po sa ating lahat at ating kanya kanyang profession.......
ReplyDeletepahirap yan sa mga Pilipino. dapat maglapat kayo ng batas na unlimitted exam para mabigyan ng pagkakataon ang mga graduate na magkaroon ng license hindi yung kelangan pang mag refresher. pano pag wala ng pera pang-aral? kung ano-ano ang naiisip nyo. bigyan nyo ng pagkakataon ang mga gusto magkalisensya.
